Most tutors turn up, teach and leave. With eStar, every lesson is backed by a record of progress you can actually see.

Sessions, homework, files and messages with your tutor, online whenever you need them.
Every student starts with a baseline. Progress sheets show strengths, what to improve and target grades.
Five exam-style questions a day with mark schemes, to keep every topic fresh between lessons.

Tell us what your child is studying and where they’re stuck. We’ll suggest where tutoring will make the biggest difference.
A class of thirty is a difficult place to be noticed in, and somewhere along the way the few minutes your child needed on one particular topic quietly went to something else. Nobody did anything wrong, but the paper asked anyway, and they came home having decided they were simply bad at chemistry.
We’d gently suggest they aren’t. Everyone can learn it; not everyone’s been taught it.
I’m Esther, a fourth-year medical student at the Daily Mail’s University of the Year, and eSTAR is the small team of tutors I choose and train. We teach Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths and English at GCSE, Biology and Psychology at A-level, and we help with applications to medicine.
We book by the hour, like everyone else does, but the hour isn’t really the thing you’re buying, the marks are, and those are what we keep a record of. Every student starts with a baseline, and after each session you’ll get a short written note, so you can watch the picture change rather than take our word for it.
A good deal of this is matching your child with the right tutor, then supporting and coaching them through the term, reading what an examiner is really asking, spotting where their own marks are leaking, keeping their nerve when a question looks unfamiliar, so that the success they end up with is properly theirs.
Every tutor is enhanced-DBS checked, and you’re welcome to sit in on any session.
A simple process, with a record at every step so you always know where things stand.
A friendly chat to understand where your child is now, what they’re aiming for, and whether we’re the right fit.
Every student starts with a baseline, so we know exactly which topics and skills are costing marks.
We match your child with a tutor from the team, then support and coach them through the term.
A written note after each session. Sessions, homework and progress reports live in the student portal.
Real messages sent to us by eStar students. Names are hidden for privacy.
“If it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t have gotten those grades, so I am beyond grateful.”

“Good, thanks for your help through the year.”

Five AQA GCSE questions a day. Ten minutes, marked by you, before the day gets away from you.
Tell us who the tutoring is for and we’ll be in touch within one working day to find a time that suits you. No pressure, no obligation.
